WHat I do with my own personal Images especially iphone Images!

I have soooo many people ask me ” where do you get your canvas from?” Where do you print your photos?” !! Well folks I will let you in on a few things.  First and foremost I print all of my professional work in professional grade printing labs. If I am commissioning someone to take my family portraits I am going to spend the money and have those images printed professionally. There are so many amazing things you can do with digital images these days and the most important thing is to ACTUALLY DO something with your memories. Do not let them sit on usb drives, CD’s, computers etc. because you know what, you will loose your images/memories forever if you do that!!!! I promise you your pictures will disappear if you rely on technology.

Think back to your grandparents time and what they have from their past albums and journals that recorded life as it was. As far as technology has come paper is still the best way to preserve your memories. Think of iphones, usb’s, CD’s as temporary storage devices and get your images printed. Here are a few examples of what I have done.

This book is from Artifact Uprising and it  a photobook I created of my son Tucker. It is over 150 pages and documents his first 48 hours  in the hospital, Jack meeting Tucker for the first time and all of his newborn images.  It has just 1 image on each page nothing fancy just clean and simple.

This is a stack of photobooks I have created over the years that I keep on my living room table for anyone that is curious to look at. If photobooks, albums or pictures are out at somebody’s house I always ask to look at them, even if I hardly know the person….I know weird! This top book is a instagram book from Artifact Uprising.

This is the first instagram book I ever printed and I think I ordered it from BLURB It is about 8×8 and has 1 image per page. Jack loves going through it. It is filled with those everyday moments that are seriously so easy to forget. If you think about it, we are so lucky to always have some sort of camera with us at all times to record your kiddo getting messy eating, enjoying a fun trip to Target or simply sleeping like an angel. Our parents generation had to pull out cameras and actually  have film on hand to capture only special moments.

Like I have mentioned there are a million things we can now do with our photos so why not! Shutterfly has been around forever and offer a pile of great stuff. They now have an app that I have yet to try but looks like fun. Shutterfly in fact bought out Kodak which is major in the photographic world.

Ok BLINKBUGGY is something new I am loving. It is basically an app that is a baby book. You can write down little things your kid’s say that made you laugh or swoon:) I SUCK at baby books like totally suck so this app is for me. You can just add in little bits of day to day memories here and there because you all  know we have our phones with us at all times!

Pinhole Press is another company I am liking although I have yet to order anything. They sell photo gift that have great clean designs. Bottle labels, kids matching games, party supplies all custom with your photos I love this site!!

My final company I frequently order from is Printsgram.

I ordered 3 instagram books less than 5 days ago and it arrived from Taiwan on my doorstep today. I ordered to of the coil books you see below and one 40 page book that I love. I fill up my instagram feed on a daily basis and I now can print my photos from on a monthly basis at a very low cost!!!

Chatbooks is my latest obsession!! It is an App you sign up for and after you have loaded 60 images to your instagram it will create a book and send it straight to you for only $6!!! The quality is not super amazing but its a darn cool thoughtless way to print your memories!!!

So there you have it a few resources I use to capture my forever I never want to forget. Print your photos, get in photos with your kids and hire a professional photographer as often as you can:)

Welcome!

My name is Janna and I currently live in Saskatoon, Sask. I have an in home studio space that I use for shooting newborns, milestones and motherhood sessions.

All in all, I am surviving on coffee and very little sleep but I am happy. I have the privilege to work with absolutely wonderful families who trust me to hold their little bitty babies and honour me with the creation of their memories.  I do feel truly blessed. I would love to meet you and maybe learn a little bit about you and your family!
