A little cake smash and splash session for you to enjoy this morning!! Emma came into the studio last month to celebrate her 1st birthday with a sweet smash and splash session. Emma was actually born the day before my Maxi was born and we were in the hospital together. Emma is like a real live living doll … her dark hair and eyes…..I could have ate her right up! I always start my first year sessions in a sweet little outfit, something neutral and so pretty and then after that we get undressed and start smashing away. I provide the cake as I have an excellent lady that does cakes for me. I prefer only white cakes for smashes as the dark cake/icing stains to much. As well my studio look is is all neutral, light and airy so the focus is on the subject and not props and backdrops. My goal is to create a timeless look and I think this smash session will be cherished for a long time.
In 2018 my goal is to document more families/babies from bump into babyhood as it truly is an amazing experience yet often is overlooked by Mom’s like myself who are overwhelmed, tired and in survival mode. As the years pass the beginning years/months of your growing families life is really truly priceless. The saying ” the days are long but the years are short” rings so true. I look at my 7 year old son and I often cannot figure out how time has passed so quickly. I still feel like that new mom that has no idea what I am doing and has still not slept since the day he was born. It is a true celebration to have your little one turn one…. as this is the last time in their life they will have ever changed/grown so rapidly in such a short period of time. Oh and hopefully they have started to sleep and that in itself is worth a million bucks!!!!
